The Electrical System of Panels includes 1,502 photovoltaic panels capable of generating 2,227 kWh / day, which will allow to obtain savings, in energy consumption, of around 5 thousand 700 pesos daily.
The university units that will benefit from the operation of this sustainable energy generation system are the Faculties of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Economics and Music, as well as the Center for Research, Innovation and Development of the Arts.
With the strengthening of its electric power generation capabilities using renewable sources, UANL reaffirms its commitment to care for the environment and public health, since in addition to the aforementioned benefits, the operation of the Panels Electrical System will prevent the emission of approximately 700 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, produced by conventional energy sources.
At the end of his speech, Mr. Rogelio Garza Rivera mentioned that during this year the work will begin to install a Solar Panels Electrical System on the University City campus and the work of the second stage of the CONECTA-UANL sustainable mobility project on the Mederos campus will begin.
With actions like this, the Maximum House of Studies of Nuevo León continues to promote the sustainable management of its campuses, in order to promote the values, tasks and practices of sustainability among the members of the university community, which will allow it to remain recognized as the Institution of Higher Education, public or private, more sustainable in Mexico.
