Digital Education Program

Digital Education Program (PED)

The Digital Education Program at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) is an institutional strategy aimed at strengthening teaching and learning processes through the incorporation of digital technologies, innovative tools, and flexible educational models that respond to the new dynamics of professional training and the needs of an increasingly interconnected society.

Through this program, virtual learning environments are promoted that foster equitable access to education, academic flexibility, and the development of digital competencies among students and faculty. The offering of courses, subjects, and programs in a digital format expands educational opportunities, ensuring educational processes with high standards of academic quality, supported by technological platforms, interactive multimedia resources, and ongoing support and advisory services.

In 2025, the UANL, through its Digital Education program, served 50,583 students

Additionally, the Program strengthens educational innovation by integrating online assessment tools, up-to-date digital content, collaborative spaces, and methodologies centered on active learning. These actions contribute to generating a more accessible, dynamic, and inclusive education, capable of adapting to the challenges of the global environment and the demands of the contemporary labor market.

Complementarily, the implementation of digital educational models represents a significant contribution to institutional sustainability by reducing the consumption of resources associated with the operation of physical spaces, such as electricity, water, materials, and transportation. The reduction in transit and the use of on-campus infrastructure helps lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the university’s ecological footprint, strengthening institutional efforts aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change.

In 2025, the Digital Education Program provided academic services to 50,583 students through various virtual platforms and modalities, helping to expand educational coverage and strengthen academic continuity. Furthermore, these actions prevented the emission of approximately 18,249,480 kilograms of CO₂ equivalent, resulting from the reduction in resource consumption and mobility associated with in-person activities.
