Ordinary meeting of the University Academy for Sustainable Development, March 2022
The Sustainability Secretariat of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, through the Project Development Directorate, held the Ordinary Meeting of the University Academy for Sustainable Development (AUDS) on March 16, 2022 starting at 1:00 p.m. :00 hours in the multipurpose room of the Research Center for Sustainable Development, with the aim of reporting on the work and actions developed by the members of the Academy and defining the future lines of action of this academic body.
The participation of Dr. Sergio Fernández Delgadillo, Secretary of Sustainability (SS) of the UANL; Dr. Argelia Vargas Moreno, Director of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences; the M.T.S. Laura González García, director of the Faculty of Social Work and Human Development; Dr. Moncerrat Arango Morales, coordinator of the Faculty of Communication Sciences; Dr. Carlos Ramírez Martínez, Director of Project Development of the SS of the UANL; Dr. Linda Angélica Osorio Castillo, Director of Social Responsibility; Dr. Evangelina Ramírez Lara, Director of Environmental Management and Operational Safety; and the M.C. Félix González Estrada, Director of Infrastructure for Sustainability.
As well as teachers from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, assigned to various departments such as: High Schools 1, 3, 7, 8, 16, “Pablo Livas” Industrial and Technical High School, Faculties of Architecture, Visual Arts, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences. Communication, Physical Mathematical Sciences, Political Sciences and International Relations, Chemical Sciences, Public Accounting and Administration, Law and Criminology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics, Social Work and Human Development, and the Institute of Social Research.
The welcome message was given by Dr. Carlos Ramírez Martínez, who subsequently presented the annual summary of activities to promote Sustainability in University Environments carried out during 2021 that included the participation of members of the AUDS, among them that are found: environment week at the UANL, meeting of student associations linked to sustainability, the international training course for promoter leaders for sustainability, the AUDS Permanent Seminar, 1st. International Forum on Education for Sustainability, photography contest “In the crosshairs of sustainability” and the tenth season of the television program Mundo Sustentable.
He presented the 2022 activity plan to promote sustainability, among which stand out: the environment week at the UANL 2022, two international courses on “Training leaders who promote sustainability”, AUDS permanent seminar, photographic exhibition “In the sights of sustainability”, 8th photography contest “In the sights of sustainability”, television program Mundo Sustentable, among others. Additionally, three new members were welcomed to the AUDS from High School No. 16, Pablo Livas Industrial and Technical High School, and the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Dr. Sergio Fernández Delgadillo, Secretary of Sustainability of the UANL, mentioned that the pandemic has shown us new scenarios and a series of challenges related to sustainability to carry out its analysis within the AUDS. Furthermore, he invited those present to continue participating in the projects and initiatives carried out by members of the university community to promote sustainability in university environments and their social environment.
