As part of its commitment to safety and the environment, UANL carries out a permanent program to verify the performance and fulfillment of safety regulations at the university facilities that use gas, complying with the provisions of the NOM-002-SECRE-2010 and NOM-004-SEG-2004 standards on natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas, respectively. This allows to identify and fix different failures at such facilities.
Furthermore, UANL has conducted the verification of boiler-furnace carburizing and installed gas outlet regulators and controlled electricity meters in order to reduce natural gas consumption and risks when turning on gas-powered equipment, which enables the measurement of the power supply’s flow and pressure to target significant annual savings at the Main and Health Sciences campuses.
